Where I’ll Be: Compliance Week Annual Conference Starts June 3

For the third year in a row, I’ll be covering the Compliance Week Annual Conference held at the Mayflower Hotel June 3-5, 2009, Washington DC. To see what kind of trouble I can stir up, just look at my coverage last year.

This year promises to be just as stimulating.

New York, New York, New York

If you follow my Twitter stream (…you should, it’s available in an RSS Feed, too!) you know that I was in NYC last weekend. It was fun but also a little of business.

Wherever You Go, There You Are…

Monday May 4th, I spoke at the Houston IIA Chapter meeting at the request of one of their officers, Catherine Hasley of Deloitte, a Twitter friend.
My presentation: “Lessons From Current Crisis – What’s An Internal Auditor To Do?” The focus is on two case studies, AIG and Société Générale.

On The Road Again

I’ve been invited to meet some readers today in the greater Cincinnati area. It seems there are present and former employees of the Big 4 and next tier audit firms in Cincinnati who read this blog frequently. I guess my notariety surprised the heck out of one of my former Jefferson Wells colleagues, Dave Eichert now at Clark Schaefer Consulting. (Actually, not. He knows me so well.) He’s graciously agreed to host a meetup and I’ve added a Tweetup so we can all talk it out.

2009 Capital Markets Summit: The US Chamber of Commerce

The US Chamber of Commerce put together a very ambitious agenda and stellar group of panelists in Washington DC on March 11, 2009. FEI Lists The Top Challenges for 2009 – An Interview With James Abel

Tooling Around Toronto

I’m in Toronto for the next few days attending the ISACA Leadership Conference.

Questioning Cox – Mission Accomplished

Go here for a text of Commissioner Cox’s speech to the US Chamber of Commerce on April 18th in Washington DC.

I though it was a very detailed and specific speech, given the generally broader and more high-level interests of the mostly pro-business audience.
