New Work Appearing At Al Jazeera Online
Some of you may recall an OpEd I wrote for Boston Review in August 2011, “What Sarbanes-Oxley Teaches Us About Dodd-Frank”. The editor, David Johnson, is very supportive of my work and was very helpful in making that piece a success.
David is now Online Editor at Al Jazeera America. He asked, based on an exchange he saw on Twitter, if I would write an OpEd to discuss my recent post about getting kicked to the curb by the Ethics and Compliance Officers Association. I recast that post for a global non-business audience and added comments from Matt Kelly, Editor in Chief and Publisher of Compliance Week and Richard Chambers, President and CEO of the IIA. Both organizations run conferences well, ones I have been invited to more than once.
“Banned from ethics conference for caring about ethics” ran on the Al Jazeera Online Opinion page on January 26, 2014.
David then asked me to also contribute a short piece for the site’s State of The Union package. My topic: The sorry state of investor protection.
That piece ran January 28. Look for it here.
Is it normal for the audit committee to be told by the CFO and CEO that it would be strange to do an audit?thanks.
@Dan
Not sure what you mean. What are you referring to?
