PwC Layoff – Meet Me At The "Reorganization"
My email brings me pleasure every day…More on this early next week.
Dear Francine,
I was one of the victims of the PwC Reorganization. Had been with the Firm for [more than 10 years] as an [Internal Services Manager] and in [late fall], they let me know that I was somehow not qualified to do the job I had done for, well… [more than 10 years].
I always had Exceeded Expectations on my reviews and was a top performer. I knew all of the other Top Performers (including the Chairman Award winner) that had been let go in the midst of this debacle and loved reading your blog and comments about it.
[When you see] the FAQs they distributed, you immediately notice the part with regard to Severance Packages. In fact, the Severance offer that was in the original FAQ for Wave 1 (and was promised throughout all 3 waves) was majorly, severely changed by Wave 2.
I am former PwC employee. I got “separated” on 02/08/08 from the Systems and Process Assurance Group in the Atlanta Office. I agree that this wave of layoffs (11 people in one week )was poorly planned and the Atlanta SPA group management is yet to be held responsible for hiring 11 new employees in July 2007 through September 2007 and then laying off 11 employees six months later because they failed to have foresight on the effects of AS
SPA Staff in the Atlanta Office don’t know if there is going to wave 2,3 or 4. Morale is low and their rationale for chosing those individuals to layoff was ill-conceived, experienced hires, seniors and experienced seniors vs new hires.
These type of actions are the reasons why people go “postal”.
If you are a victim of the PWC layoffs, contact me.

I am another former PwC’er. I was a director in the NY office, and was cut last week. I’d like to know how widespread the cuts were.
west coast is also pretty bad. some people were given zero day notice, even those on work visas.
we’re just waiting for the layoffs in the other LOS.
Greetings to all former collegues, I was browsing thru and saw the headline and felt a need to read this. I too was let go on the 2nd wave and felt very upset at them not letting me know exactly why, yet I find out they hire about 7 to 10 more people after they let some very good people go in the New York office. I was working in I.F.S. for over 3 years. I have traveled across the country work my a$$ off for them. Yet they don’t see it. I am glad to be in a new place that pays more and appricate the work I do. I will forever be disgruntle towards PWC. Management is retarded and if they plan on making anywhere in life. They can kiss my a$$. hahaha Theres my 2 cents.
